Being God's Ambassador: Meditation 4

Let's prepare to meditate. Start playing your relaxing sounds/music on another device if you like accompaniment with meditation. With your tissues and water beside you, get in a comfortable sitting position. Close your eyes if you'd like. Now, relax your entire body, starting with your forehead, between your eyebrows, your jaws, your neck and shoulders, your arms and legs. Feel the tension release as you relax. Allow the stomach and shoulders to naturally rise and fall as you slowly breathe in and breathe out. Today's meditation affirmation is "I am created in the image of God. He provides everything I need to be His ambassador." Let's repeat this affirmation to ourselves as we concentrate on our breathing for a few moments. Continue your slow, concentrated breathing as I guide you through today's meditation.

Listen to Meditation 4.

In Genesis 1:26 NLT (New Living Translation), God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.” God made us in His image - yes, our features, but also, our thoughts and desires should be like His as well. So, to be God's ambassadors, we must have eyes to see, ears to hear, courage to act, show love to everyone we encounter, and carry peace in our hearts.

Now, let's place our praying hands against our heart. Heavenly Father, we need Your eyes to see those who are hurting - the obvious and the not so obvious. Teach us to listen without interruption, not to offer advice unless it is asked of us. Sometimes people just need someone to listen without our personal anecdotes. Help us to know how to assist the hurting with Your heart, without judgment. Maybe someone just needs a kind word, a hug, a shoulder to lean on. We want them to see Your Love, Father, and to find strength in You through us, your ambassadors. All glory to you, God.

Paul said in Ephesians 4:15 NLV (New Life Version), "But we are to hold to the truth with love in our hearts. We are to grow up and be more like Christ. He is the leader of the church." Please, remind us daily, Father, to purposely live and love like Your Son, Jesus, who came to teach us the right actions and reactions before He willingly Sacrificed Himself to save us from our sins of selfishness and self-righteousness. Help us to be more like Christ, Your Holy Son. Thank you for making Your Instructions readily available to us so we can be better ambassadors of Your Love.

Let's breathe in and out 3 more relaxing breaths, repeating to ourselves, "I am created in the image of God. He provides everything I need to be His ambassador."

Now, open your eyes if you had them closed. Gently move your neck from side to side. Place your hands on your lap and tap your fingers one at a time. Wiggle your toes. Get a drink of water.

Thank you for joining me today for this relaxing meditation and learning how to be a better ambassador for God. Let's get out our journals and title today's entry "Being God's Ambassador".

  • List the Bible verses and affirmation from today's meditation.
  • Write down names of those who need your help. Let God guide you. Is He showing you? Do they seem sad, nervous, agitated? Or has someone directly asked you for help? Maybe it's a coworker, a teller at your bank, someone at church, one of your children, a group of people in the world at large.
  • How can you help them? Monetarily? Prayers? Listening? Just jot it down. This is between you and God. "I'm going to pray for God to be with bank teller Susie. She was unusually quiet today, so I think she may have something going on in her personal life." Whether it was an argument, loss of a loved one, lack of sleep, or something else, that's between them and God. You don't have to mention it to the person. Just be kind and understanding to them without getting huffy as in, snatching the money from her hand and thinking, well, I won't go through her line again after the way she acted today. We all have our "off" days from time to time and for one reason or another. During these times, we just need understanding and not judgment. Others do too.
With that, I hope you have a few more minutes to listen to the song I added to the end of this post, "Less Like Me" by Zach Williams.

Radiate love, and sparkle for the Peace of Christ. Glory to God in Heaven.

Grateful for you today and wishing you many blessings,

Buying and Care Tips for Outdoor Plants

These first  2 tips came to mind when I was buying 4 new outdoor deck plants this past week at Lowe's. First of all, at least at the Lowe's I visited, all of their hanging basket flowers were badly wilted and turning brown. I'll have to say, that was a first. All of their plants usually look amazing. I'm not sure if it's because of all the local rainfall, and maybe they haven't been watering them regularly, and that was why they looked so shabby. Because typically, someone would be watering the flowers at about the time we arrived; always have been in the past, and no one was doing that on the day we visited earlier this week. Or maybe they've let Mother Nature overwater them. I don't know. Regardless of the reason, I passed on buying hanging basket flowers. I'm the type of person who really needs to start with healthy flowers. Therefore, I brought home 4 in regular pots, because they all looked healthy. So, my first tip is to pay attention to the

Worry is Waste

How many moments do we waste worrying about things we aren't able to control? I know I've had my fair share of moments like that. I won't say that I never worry anymore. Human nature is to worry. But I worry much less these days, because I trust God to take care of all my needs and problems. According to my NLT study Bible, worrying leads to immobilization, but concern leads us to action. I like that they have shown me the difference between worry and concern. Let's, now, read today's Scripture about the impacts of worry and the effects of trusting God from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 6:25-34 says, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your
