Question of the Week: What are your favorite types of movies?

My family and I enjoy watching older flix with actors and actresses like Katherine Hepburn, Humphry Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Vincent Price, Carolyn Jones, Fay Wray, John Wayne, and many, many others. We've watched Casablanca, The Fly, King Kong, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, War Wagon, and the likes several times. I'll have to say that I did not know John Wayne was funny until I started watching his westerns and war movies a few years back.

With that being said, there are more modern movies we enjoy watching as well. Of course, most of the modern movies should be watched in their edited formats. And even the edited versions could use more discretion as each year passes.

Movies are a great way to escape the pressures of life and to relax for a couple of hours after a stressful week. Life goes on, but all of our worries and anxieties last only as long as we're alive. So, a little time out won't hurt a bit. And who knows? A good movie might help us realize that life doesn't have to be as hard as we make it out to be, maybe help us find direction or a happy ending at the end of every day.

Take care and may God bless you with encouragement,

Let's Talk Simple!

My Simple Dream For years, I have had a simple dream of helping other women - mostly in the realm of crafting and transcribing audio and video files. As a woman who is advancing in years - and I'm proud of it - I want to expand that help in other areas. In 2020, at the height of the COVID 19 pandemic, I started . Suddenly, women were being thrown into a world they were unfamiliar with and didn't have a clue how to handle their new life.  I, on the other hand, was well equipped to handle that type of world that had to shelter at home. I was a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years. I homeschooled both of my sons during that time - one for only a few years and the other from Kindergarten through high school. I worked from home and figured out what was important to do at the moment and what could wait. I have also taken online courses and have self-taught myself new skills along this, now, 30-year journey. I learned shortcuts in life that worked just as well a
